It has been reported that Nissan Corporation will now begin to give its customers 2 years of free charging services for those who buy the Leaf electric car in the top 25 selling locations throughout the country. This program will begin on July 1st of this year. Under the program entitled a?No Charge to Chargea?, owners of these vehicle will be provided with a unique EZ-Charge access card in conjunction with their newly leased vehicle. This enables them to recharge the caras lithium-ion battery at public charging stations that are owned and operated by many different companies, some of which are ChargePoint, Blink Network, AeroVironment, and NRG eVgo.
The EZ-Charge card is also going to be accessible for current Leaf drivers who either own or lease their vehicles. However, these individuals will have to pay for the charging of their vehicles. They will be able to use the card at any of the charging stations though. This is somewhat comparable to the programs of their fueled vehicle manufacturer counterparts who offer free gasoline programs to new owners of their vehicles. The program is going to be initiated in states such as California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, and Texas by the summer.
